USAID and Reliance Foundation respect the privacy of visitors/ users (“Users”) of this USAID and Reliance Foundation WomenConnect Challenge India Community of Practice website (“CoP website”) and are committed to taking reasonable precautions to protect information consisting of personal information and `Sensitive Personal Data or Information’ (SPDI) (“Personal Information”) of Users and comply with all legal, regulatory and/or contractual obligations related to privacy.  

This policy covers the processing and storage of, and access to Personal Information as required under lawful and/or contractual activities with USAID and/ or Reliance Foundation or otherwise in the normal course of business. It describes USAID and Reliance Foundation’s policies and procedures on the collection, usage and disclosure of Personal Information provided/received by natural persons and meets the requirements established by the Government of India, under: 

  • The Information Technology Act, 2000 – Section 43A; and 

  • The Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Information) Rules, 2011. 

This Privacy Policy governs the privacy and security issues related to use of the CoP website. By accessing or using the CoP website, you are a User and you agree to abide by this Privacy Policy. You also consent to the collection and use of your Personal Information in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. 

USAID and Reliance Foundation each reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Modifications to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and use of the CoP website following any such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy then in effect. 

 

INFORMATION COVERED BY THIS PRIVACY POLICY

This policy applies to Personal Information collected and processed by USAID and Reliance Foundation consisting of following: 

Personal information. Personal information is information related to a visitor, or a combination of pieces of information that could reasonably allow him to be identified. Personal information may consist of full name, personal contact numbers, residential address, email address, gender, or date of birth. While information such as date of birth in isolation may not be enough to uniquely identify the visitor, a combination of full name and date of birth may be sufficient to do so. 

SPDI. Sensitive personal data or information (“SPDI”) is such personal information that is collected, received, stored, transmitted, or processed by RIL, consisting of: 

  • Password 

  • Financial information such as bank account or credit card or debit card or other payment instrument details 

  • Physical, physiological, and mental health condition 

  • Sexual orientation 

  • Medical records and history 

  • Biometric information 

  • Any detail relating to the above personal information categories as provided to USAID or Reliance Foundation for providing services; and 

  • Any of the information received under above personal information categories by USAID or Reliance Foundation for processing, stored or processed under lawful contract or otherwise. 

Please note that any information that is freely available or accessible in public domain or furnished under the Right to Information Act, 2005 or any other law for the time being in force shall not be regarded as SPDI. 

 

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Only minimum Personal Information required to meet the purposes mentioned in this policy shall be collected from the visitor/s. None of USAID, Reliance Foundation or any of their respective representatives shall be responsible for the authenticity of such Personal Information provided by the visitor/s. As normal business practice, USAID and Reliance Foundation may collect Personal Information to enable the secure online authentication, interaction and transaction with natural persons. This may include the installation of cookies and the collection of other session data. 

 

USE OF INFORMATION

Except for Personal Information, you have no expectation of privacy for information that you post to the CoP website.  By submitting any content to a public part of the CoP website (including posts, comments, and chat messages), any other User of the CoP website will be able to see such content. Other CoP website Users may also share information about you, which means include uploading of content or by interacting with you. 

USAID and Reliance Foundation may use information given by Users on the CoP website to prepare future content based on User interests and to enhance the Users’ experiences with the CoP website. USAID and Reliance Foundation may also use information that Users provides through the CoP website to send out electronic newsletters and to enable Users to participate in polls, surveys, message boards, and forums. INFORMATION PROCESSED BY USAID AND Reliance FOUNDATION

The CoP will also adhere to the following rules regarding the collection of user information:
